This unit is going to talk about searching the inner self. Alienated characters don't see themselves in a mirror they see segments. Referring to pieces of one self. They try connecting the pieces in order to find who they are. Society has made modern man forget about caring for another unless you know that person. Society judges people assuming that they are going to be taken advantage of. A character that reminds me of an alienated person is Holden. The art works that makes a bigger impact is the "scream." The cures for alienation is to try and conform to who you are and accept that what you believed is true. You should also try and get to communucate with other people while letting yourself free. This helps because you can see what type of person you are without isolating yourself.

1) The power point was about how things effected the normal human being. His or her life was changed with all these new innovations that made everyone different and scared. They couldn't tell what was right and what was wrong.

I think this unit is about being distant and traumatized. When they look in the mirror they see themselves deformed. World war 2 has made mankind feel lonely and disconnected. Katniss from the hunger games makes me feel like she's alienated. The Scream is one of the most powerful art pieces. A cure could be to accept reality

Alienated characters see fragments or pieces of what they are. Advances in technology have lead to the feeling of alienation in people such as John in Brave New World. Art pieces to display this theme would be pieces like the scream. A cure for this would be to just accept the world around you.

This unit will be about the human mind and body. Alienated characters see different colors and shapes when they look in the mirror. Factors like depression and bulllying have made man lonely or disconnected. This happens all the time. I don't know any characters that remind me of an alienated character. I don't think there is any cure for feelings of alienation.

I feel like this is all about trying to find ones self. All the paintings are reflections of who you are. The thing is that the paintings are so unclear and without structure that it's hard to recognize yourself anymore. I feel like this is relevant again because of things such as technology. "Social media" is anything but. The way of communication in modern society, had devolved onto a small screen in your hand. There is something missing that is the core of humanity, which is human interaction. Reminds me of the truman show. He lived his life thinking he was one person but in reality he didn't know himself at all and everyone around him were actors. He was alone. This is why I think the modern man trapped by his own inadequacies shows this perfectly. Man is struggling with emotion and hostility whilst he himself is changing shape. I think this is mostly caused by society. Society has such a high standard to what somebody should be that we all strive to be that way. Fact of the matter is we all can't be like one another. Live your own life.

1) I believe the unit will go through topics such as finding one's inner-self, existential crisis, personas, personalities, and the impact events have on one's life.

Alienation is the experience of being isolated from a group or an activity in which you feel you should be in or a part of. When someone is alienated they feel distant and that they don’t voice or that their voice isn’t as important.

This unit is about Alienation. An alienated character would see a diffferent version of themselves that they can't recognize. Factors of depression, phsychoactivity, etc.. In a way it's hard to chose a character with these traits since they have to be "disconnected and in a way most characters have to play importants roles that involve being connected in one way or another. Most of Picasso's art work is great but their are also many great artist with the similar styles. I wouldn't really know but i would go to a psychologist.

Based on the power point, I can say thet this untit will be about the human efforts to find who we are. It is about the perception that we have about ourselves and who we want to be. What alienated characters see when they look in the mirror is a different version of themselves than the one that we see. When they look in the mirror, they get to see their feelings, their stories, their thoughts, a more pure and natural version of them. The factors that have made modern man feel lonely and disconnected could be that we go through a lot of things and pressure in this time. Social media can make us feel disconnected because we do not build strong relationships with people that are with us if we are just checking social media. Having really hifh beauty standars can make us feel lonely because we feel that we are the only people in the world that do not fit in those standards. A character that I know of that remind me of an alienated person could be Vicent Van Gogh. I believe that he felt that he was lonely and things would not get any better, and we can see that in his paintings and self-portraits. He paints himself as he sees himself as a sad person.

I believe this is about finding someone tru inner self and understanding who they are as in individual. And like who they want to become. It’s mostly about alienation in general because an alienated character sees what they really are and what they choose to see in the mirror like different versions of themselves and their own specific feelings that are showed in others eyes. In a way Vincent Vangou reminds me of this persay the way he reflects his own feelings on paper to be displayed for everyone to see. The cures for alienation I do not exactly know but I would recommend talking to someone about it or just to speak to themselves.

This unit is all about finding out who you truly are. Many people alienate themselves by withdrawing and isolating themselves to the point where they do not even know who they are. When looking in the mirror, alienated people see the outline of them is the same, but they’re slightly altered; this is not their true being. Not knowing who you are and being lost can trigger you to do and think negative things. This mindset isn’t healthy and could actually lead to some personal problems. Factors leading to this feeling of disconnection could be the culture. The music and literature most likely had a big influence. Mr. Bean reminds me of an alienated character. The most powerful artwork that was displayed for this is the Self Portrait: Picasso’s Girl Before a Mirror. She is unique and colorful and when she looks in the mirror she is still unique and colorful, but she looks different. A cure for alienation that I know of would be socialization. By talking to people, you are more aware of your thoughts because you are saying them out loud.

This weeks unit will be about people finding their true self. Alienated people when they look in a mirror see a inadequate person and someone who's possibly wondering who they are in Society. Society has made modern man lonely by putting a social pressure. By the way they are supposed to dress, act, and show emotion. A character that reminds me of a alienated like character is Plato from "Rebel without a cause. Picasso's work is a great way to express alienation. When i start feeling like i dont know who i am anymore. I usually try to try new things, dress in different ways, and try new styles. I think its a part of evolving as a new person. Maybe it is time to change who you are so you can find yourself again in a different light. Also i try to talk to someone who might relate to me. This way I wont feel so alone while looking for myself again. I believe this feeling is normal not really something to worry about. Until these feelings start turning into this that might potentially harm you. The feeling of alienation can turn into path that are very dangerous for you all because you cant find yourself anymore. We are still young and growing I think we shouldn't worry about who we are right now we should just enjoy changing with the seasons and not question why.

Based on this powerpoint i think this unit is about who you think you are when you look at in mirror or when someone questions you "who are you". Alienated characters see who they think they are and who they assume other people see within. Factors include that regardless of being man its always been taught that they have to provide and prance through life except their life. i dont really know any characters but if i could describe it i think itd be a bunch of vibrant colors and passion because i like to think i am passionate about the people i care about.. the cures i think could cure those characters is having a deep self conversation with your self and maybe just letting your feelings out.

The power point was talking about one's inner conscious or self. Alienated characters do not seem themselves but rather segments due to them being sad or lonely. Things like bullying, technology, or losing ones self is what made men feel lonely and disconnected. As of this moment there are no characters that I am fully aware of that remind me of alienation. I was a fan of the outer and inner space being together. I think the cure is to realize everyone is different in their own ways, accept those around you whether you like them or not, just do it for yourself.

This unit talks about being distant and talking about oneself. Alienated characters may look at themselves with pity. Mostly everyone is on their mobile devices, it's still the same thing as it was 5-7 years. Holden is alienated due to his pain that he feels. The image on the English 11 blog has an unsettling view in my opinion but it is also a powerful art. Connecting with others help with eliminating alienation.
