Describe the chronology of the moment (beginning, middle, end), the facts or 5Ws (who what when where why how), imagery (5 senses), quotes / dialogue, and your subjective feelings. Bring the moment to life in a short 7-10 sentence creative writing paragraph. Conclude by analyzing the moment from a now grown up perspective. How are your impressions of that moment different now that you can look back on it as a teenager?

Someone who has "The courage of his or her convictions" not only has strong beliefs but also is willing to stand behind them. The authors in this unit fit that description. Maya Angelou says, ""I was a mute from the time I was seven and a half until I was almost 13. I didn't speak. I had voice, but I refused to use it." Think of some issues a person your age might want to speak out about but could find hard to address. What are the advantages of speaking out about each issue, as well as the disadvantages or obstacles to speaking out? Then decide which of these issues you feel particularly strongly about and explain why it's important to you. Share your answer in 7-10 sentences. Romeo and Juliet is still one of Shakespeare's most frequently performed plays. Romeo and Juliet's popularity since 1596 has made them the quintessential archetypal lovers. There's no escaping Shakespare. Why is he still so relevant?
How do we relate to this story in the modern age? Why do we study this play today?
