In 10-15 sentences, write the story of you as a reader. Consider all type of reading material. What do you remember reading as a kid? Who read to you? What do you remember about learning how to read? How did you feel about reading? Has school or home made a bigger influence on you as a reader? What types of reading material do you interact with now? How has this reading helped make you who you are? If you couldn't read, what would your life be like?

I do not remember when I started to read. But when I first learned I read the general children's books. In elementary school I loved the Magic Tree House series of books. I read nearly all of them and by fifth grade I could read one in a day. These books taught me to read quickly while still understanding the material. This skill has greatly helped me in school and made me a great test taker. The last book I read by myself was The Art of War by Sun Tzu. After sophomore year I haven't read any books outside of school. If I never learned how to read I would probably be an ignorant fool and would have dropped out of school by now. Reading is a necessary skill and not being able to read will hold anyone back in life.

I have never enjoyed reading. I remember in second grade we had to do timed reading. There was a page long short story and we had to read it as quickly as possible. I look back on that and wonder what the purpose was. How did that benefit me in any way? In middle school I would do everything possible to not read the book that was being discussed in class. My sister used to read to me when I was upset. My parents didn't do bedtime stories when I was old enough to remember. My grandma read to me every once in a while. The only thing that I will enjoy reading now is thrillers and horror stories. They hold my interest.

I am not a big fan of reading books. Their has only been a few books that have caught my attention. What i remember reading as a kid is magic treehouse books. They were the only books that caught my attention. No one really read to me because everyone was always busy. I don’t remember what i learned on reading. School has made a big influence on my reading. Books that i read now are books that are about mystery or action. If I didn’t know how to read then life for me would be very difficult and i will never get a job.

When I was in elementary school I loved t read more than anything, there was never a time where I didnt touch a book, maybe that's why I dont like to read now. I dont remember when I started to read, but I do remember my mother always read to me and my siblings growing up. Our favorite were all the little critter books we read them every day and occasionally the berenstien bears. I always felt like reading was just a movie I could see in my head and it made everything I read seem so real. School definitely had a huge impact on my reading, the library is where I got all of my books, every week getting a new one. I loved reading series most, I read the harry potter books, goosebumps and all the junie b jones just for fun. I feel like all the reading as a kid made me grow tired of reading that's why I am not a fan of it now. The only reading I do is your basic everyday stuff like road signs and menus.

As a kid I would read all the time everyday. I used to read The Series of Unfortunate Events. Reading was a requirement in elementary school. They would always have a party for the people that read the most. I would go to the party every year because I read all the time. I would also read the treehouse books. Those were basically the books that I read all the time. When I finished all of those books I stopped reading.

I have never been the type to read books. They never really interested me as a kid and even until know. I was more of "If this book has a movie, I'd rather watch the movie then to read the book". But from when I did read I always read nothing but books with cartoons or some type of activity. For example some books have you flip things or they have you feel on textures. Those were the types of books I personally enjoyed as a kid. I mainly went for books that weren't so long or didn't have words that I would not understand. I loved reading out loud as a kid. For example as in school when I would get picked to read out loud I was happy, but reading to myself was something I didn't really enjoy so much.

At around elementary time I never enjoyed reading. Reading was very difficult for me since I wasn’t able to speak until 4. So since speaking was hard for imagine reading. When i got in to middle school I started to enjoy reading. One time read 30 books in a summer. When i was little no one ever read for. If someone ever did it was a teacher. The types of books like to read is horror story’s, and romance . What i like about horror story’s in books its not like the ones you see in movies. For the romance i like that imaging the love story.

I remember as a kid I used to love reading, it’s the only thing I ever did in my spare time. I used to read from Hunger games to regular ol Dr.suess books. Starting in 1st grade I used to read to myself, which one fine since my mom isn’t an English speaker. I remember struggling to learn how to read, since I typically try to read a lot quicker than my mouth allows. Not as much if anything it’s been a disadvantage to my reading it doesn’t happen anymore, and I’m just less interested in it. Now when I get bored I read gaming news posts in the next updates or things like that. Well that reading at least lets me see both sides of a problem in a game, I see both the publishers side and the consumers side.

I don't remember when I started to read. The forst person to read to me was my teacher from kindergarten. I don't really remember learning how to read. Personally I don't really like reading because I get bored when I read or I just lost interest in what I'm reading. I definitely read a lot in school so it has influenced me to read more but it's hard to choose something I like. I really don't interact with reading because it's hard for me to find something I like. Reading has helped me to expand my vocabulary. Reading doesn't really catch my eye because for me to read something it has to be interesting. I do like to read when I want to read because like I get bored really easily when it comes to reading. If I ccouldn't read it would be hard for me to communicate and to ask someone for help because if you don't know how to read how would you communicate with others.

I don’t remember when I started to read but I do know I didn’t enjoy it very much. I got very bored and it felt like a chore since mainly the reason why I had to read was for AR points in elementary school so I’d read the smallest easiest books such as The Beirnstien Bears, but I did read Magic Treehouse religiously. But during Summer after 5th grade I received a bg book named twilight and I was in love, i read that book more than 5 times through other summer. Once middle school started I ended up reading the whole series in the library and I read more and more and more. In he end I ended up reading almost all the romantic fantasy books and had more AR points than anyone in school, I even got in trouble sometimes cause I would read instead of paying attention. It got to a point we’re if I got grounded I was grounded from my books and had to watch TV and it made me so mad. I don’t read novels as much anymore, I read a lot of comics, like manga or webcomics but I have a lot of books I enjoy as well.
