Americans are at increasing risk of disease because of the unhealthy food we eat. The U.S. has 78 million obese adults, the highest number of any country in the world, even China, with four times the population. 68.8 of Americans are overweight. One out of three children in America are obese. GMOs, processed food controversy, hidden ingredients, and health food label debates are constantly in the news. Magazines are filled with super-food recipes, dieting tips, and meal plan ideas. What will it take to get us to change our eating habits? What is your understanding about some of these topics? I believe that the high ratings of obesity in America are due to the ignorance, laziness, and disgraceful self discipline based upon one's individual health. In the case of fast food, let's face it, the reason most people decide to eat fast food is becasue it is fast, cheap and tastes pretty good. I think that there's not much that can be done to help decrease the overall obesity in the U.S. We've tried highering the prices and/or selling smaller portions of everything but in reality it's all just up to the people themselves. My definition of healthy is a person who is free of injury and illness and that has a sane state of mind and is in a good physical condition for their own type of body. I feel that I pretty much match my definition of being healthy except I do think I could work a little more on where my weight is at and better some of my eating habits. I believe that ones own health should be their first priority. If you are good to your body, your body will be good back to you. Im sure there's no better feeling than to feel completely comfortable under your own skin and know that you look and feel the best that you could. Everyone needs to realize that you only get one body in life and whatever you do to it is what you're going to have to live with.

To make us change our eating habits you have to make an organization where the community comes together and I know not everyone will show up so We'll get the people who do show up and tell them to pick just one neighbor that needs that help and go to there house and tell them today is the day your going to change. If they say any sort of yes you are allowed to go in and take away all junk food. Then with money donated to the organization you'll go grocery shopping and buy healthy good food. Being your neighbor you can check up on them every once in a while to keep them on track.I eat ok but eating healthy is a normal thing because of my mom and how she cooks. She cooks delicious and healthy food.

America would need to take full charge in everyone's eating habits starting with the foods available to us. Fast food is a major role in everyone's everyday life. Poverty is taking place here in America so since fast food is so cheap it's easier to buy. So since most people have families to feed they feel the need of getting whatever they can to feed their children. The children learn and start to like all this food that they take on these habits into their adulthood. Ignorance also plays another factor since their parents or guardians never took charge in teaching them the right ways of eating they don't bother to learn. My eating habits aren't the best but not the worst , I could improve them a lot. Luckily my parents have taught me some good eating habits like not eat fast food so constantly only once in awhile. I do want to take charge in them because they will only end up affecting me and my body and even life span.

I think this topic is about obesity in American and how many people in America are obese and that ha gone so far that now it's a problem here in the United States.many suffer from diabetes because of how they eat. American don't realize what they are doing to there body by eating and eating. Number one thing and it's our topic is the fast food places that we have around us. Many and I mean many people are always at fast food places eating something cause either there running late eating caus ether just hungry and or the people that eat just to eat. I personally believe that fast food places made obesity here. They have low prices on the non healthy things and the healthy ones are little more expensive why is this now. They want us to get bigger Thn the usual.

We will never change our eating habits unless skyrocket the prices of the junk food and lower the prices of health foods. What I understand about this topic is that if we were to put all natural resources instead of the processed sugars and trying to eat skinny and eat healthly it would be easier to become fit. If you try to eat skinny as in trying to cheat our way of eating stuff like, cereal, drink diet sodas and eat/drink anything with processed sugar it would take longer for our bodies to process them because the are fake. My definition of health is not eating anything that is processed in a factory.

The United States is constantly making new laws to try and protect people from their own bad habits and unwise decisions. This would be definitely fall perfectly into this category. My eating habits are terrible, but they are just as any other teenagers, making it a pretty sad thought that most snapchats about food that we post are of sugary drinks and greasy pizza. We don't bother to post a picture of a salad because that doesn't relate to most people. To try change this overnight, or even in the same decade is insane. Bad habits die hard. My generation was conditioned to not like smoking, which is why a larger percent of high school students stay away from tobacco. Something similar would have to be done with our future generations. All of those ads on TV about smoking being a death wish should be used to inspire ads that reveal the truth about consumerism and food addiction.

Eating healthy really depends on the person and sometimes the environment they lilve in. For example to avoid eating healthy people can just make their own decisions but i do understand how people say this is difficult to do especially in the united states. Most of the food advertisements are about fast food. There is probably not a day where someone doesnt see anything to do with fast and junk food. This is problem because of obesity. I think there should be more programs and announcements about staying healthy so people have more positive motivation.

Unhealthy eating habits derive typically from lack of parental supervision over their children's meals. Many kids constantly snack throughout the day on junk foods not due to hunger, yet simply over boredom. Parents need to pursue their children into a healthier lifestyle and encourage a healthier diet. Today, it is financially as well as economically easier for low income families to have a fast food meal over a home cooked fresh and healthy meal. The flaw is our society is that at a fast food chain a greasy burger is a buck and a salad is $6.99. This needs to change, and quickly. We need to take the initiative to push our future generations to live a healthier life through eating right and exercise. When we realize that making healthier cheaper and unhealthy expensive will create healthier choices, we will see change. This will not be an overnight change, but it can progress over time. Your body is a temple, watch what you put init.

There is a disease currently in the US. The name of the disease is obesity. There are millions of US citizens and others who are obese. They are ignorant of the fact that we must take care of our bodies. It result in the gaining of type 2 diabetes. To make us change or eating habits we have to learn what we are to our bodies. Also start to teach children these healthy habits from a young age. That we can be unhealthy at times but not constantly. My eating habits is to eat what is served at home . As well as going out from time to time, but not everyday. To be healthy is to have strong bones and not feel sluggish due to the lack of nutrients. I myself need to work getting healthier.

My idea on being obese is not ok. I will never probably let my self be that big in life . I eat alot but its because i play golf and cross country to run it off. I like being skinney but not to skinney. I could see how people want to though. Because all they do is eat and do nothing and watching tv is their life. I dont see how that could be fun for someone. I would not want that to happen to me. Also i think people that are obese get paid because they are to big to do anything so they get paid for doing nothing. I think that is wrong and they should do something about it.

Food is good for you but too much is bad. Too much greasy food can make you break out and make you fat. You have to have a home made meal most of the time. Home made food gives you energy and the nutrients you need. You need vitamins to live longer like fruit and sunlight. Just eating fast food can cause you to gain weight fastttt. Food keeps you alive but just junk food is bad for your body. Just on junk food you’ll live half the life you should with healthy food. If that makes sense lmaoooo. Healthy food makes you live longer and helps you stay in shape.

I believe it takes quite a while to change up your eating habits. It could take as long as a couple of weeks or maybe even in a couple of months. As far as I know in how you can get started on making a change is taking it slow and going step by step instead of rushing into a full on diet. I would highly said to go at your own paste and sooner or later it will happen naturally. My understanding that I see mainly happen in this topic is that its very difficult. And I would agree one hundred percent its not easy and sure is very challenging. To others it may not be as hard and goes smooth and easy but for others it's kind of a must. I wouldn't say that my saying habits are that bad but I do make unhealthy food choices. I also don't think its that bad to have an unhealthy snack once in a while just maintain the rest of your food choices and your good. As for my definition for healthy is eating something will low calories and not so much carbs.

The obesity in America is due to both the people and the franchisers. They sell unhealthy foods and make it cheaper than healthy food. If you go to a fast food place your not looking to spend much, so in your mind your thinking you would rather buy the two dollar burger than the ten dollar salad. People blame the obesity mostly on the people who sell the fast food, but nobody looks at the people purchasing it, they are choosing to buy the product and consume it that's why they make more money and continue to sell. It is the persons fault if they are obese and choose to be without trying to change it. You can not blame a company for selling their product when everyone buys it, if people were to buy the unhealthy foods less then they would not be in stores as much as they are now. People say in the end we all die anyways so whats the point of trying to eat healthy when I can eat whatever I want, but what they dont understand is that they dont have to just eat healthy and they dont have to completely cut out junk food. Start small instead of eating out everyday do it one day less, instead of eating ten cookies try only eating eight, and try adding some little healthy variety in there too, when you eat a meal add a fruit of vegetable, or before u eat a meal eat a fruit, it will fill you faster and you will eat a smaller portion. Nothing dramatic has to happen right away, little by little is great and perfect for making improvements.

I think the obesity is due to everyone not caring and eating what ever they want. You never see anybody exercise anymore people are just lazy. Obesity is a problem to because there is so many fast food restaurants there’s one on every corner. What they serve in the fast food places are really bad the servings sizes are way over. How many Calories in some of the stuff is abousltoley crazy. We could easily end obesity by watching what we eat and exercise a little more. It’s crazy how many people are over weight and unhealthy. My eating habits are not that bad I normally eat 3 meals a day and try not to eat out.

Americans have been becoming obese. I think part of it is due to laziness. Nowadays you can have a computer do everything for you. Technology plays a huge role in the way people are gaining weight. People no longer see the need to excersie and be healthy. Body positivity has allowed people to be okay with the fact that they are on their way to develop diabetes or high cholesterol. I support body positivity but it is another thing when you are letting yourself become sick.

I believe one of the major reasons that Americans become obese is the lack of information they have on the subject. The issue isn't addressed enough to catch notice of todays society. Second would be cost and convenience. When comparing a burger and a salad the salad costs more leading the consumer for the cheapest which is usually the unhealthy meal. The convenience is how much time is consumed. Fast food joints all have drive thru which minimizes the consumers time. All these factors leave a everlasting impression with the consumer which then just brings back the consumer. My eating habits are not any better. I fall under the same system. Its mainly just laziness and refusal for paying more.

I feel that America should really focus on what they are putting out there in the world for us. America should provide us healthy food to buy. If we see unhealthy food being in the stores, and showed, of course we are going to want it. We the people love all the sugers and the junk. Since we love all that we will tend to eat much more of it. If we eat more of it then we can start to get health problems. These health problems aren’t something that someone would want to experiences. Some of my eating habits are eating chips. Chips are just so good and easy to much on. Though i know they are unhealthy, and there is better choices out there.

I am one those people with bad eating habits and will eat a lot. Eating food is an obsession to me because I just love it. I think Americans are at risk of the many diseases these fast foods can give. I do not have a plan for eating healthy yet but I hope one soon. What it means to be healthy to me is to just have routine that you follow and make sure you eat foods from the pyramids. One of my goals is to find healthy habits and have a healthy lifestyle.

I am one who isn’t good with watching habits. I will either eat to much or to little. I’m not the healthiest but I do keep an eye on my body and how much weight I gain. I think that this is a big issue because we do have a lot of young people that are obese and don’t know how to change it. I think if we all just took away fat food we would be okay. In the end it’s not healthy or good for us to be over weight or obese. After reading all of this I wanna make sure that I am eating better and watching myself a lot more. At the end of the day I think being comfortable is the goal and understanding where you what to be with your body. When I was fatter as a kid I would always get made fun of & that made me want to change my eating habits. Now that I am older I do watch what I eat and I feel good when I workout. I think we have to advertise more healthy foods in order for things to change.

Eating healthy food keeps u well healthy. Alot of food that tastes good is bad for you but then again we need some sugar and fatty things as well. Its not about only eating junk or only eating healthy. Its about keeping a balance between the two
