Academic tradition doesn't stray to far from our own backyard. In other words, you probably haven't read very many pieces of eastern literature for school. Though traditions may be different, literary themes are always universal. In what ways can you make connections to the cultures of:
China Japan The Middle East Africa Connect to yourself, other texts, or the world in 7-10 sentences. What do you know about these places and what do we borrow from these cultures?

The United States of America has the longest standing constitution . What does that have to do with the rest of the world? Britain and other countries have all revised there form of it since ours was published ; borrowing American ideas. America was founded on mainly British people , meaning we were of the same race but different ethnicity. We may not have much in common with third-world countries today but luckily for literature themes are universal. If you go to Bogota and say love they might not understand you but show them a fat kid and cake and no words are necessary. I do remember reading a story when I was a little kid in class about a Chinese girl though. She had moved here and wanted to wear jeans to fit in and one day she went to either her neighbor or a friends house or something. There was some food there that she wasn't used too and she was eating celery weird or her American friend was I cant remember . But someone decided to eat the celery by peeling the fibrous strings out and it was making a weird zip sound. The end.

These places are important and actually apart of history. China is a communist country. Japan is known for their food and culture. The middle east is known for things that have happened in the past with United States. But yet as well we don't have as much connection with a 3rd world countries do. Yet i was introduced to other cultures. There honestly pretty cool

Thought I am not part of these cultures, I can say that I do relate to them. As a kid growing up, my father introduced me into many different cultures. He would show me kid animation films from Japan, such as Pokemon and Sailor Moon. As I matured, he allowed me to watch Chinese action films, mainly the ones with Jackie Chan. Nowadays, since my father remarried, I hear a lot about how life was for my stepmother in the Middle East. She would tell me of the stories of her growing up in Jordan, and the many culture shocks she happened to face here in America. I've researched the many different cultures in Africa, Japan, the Middle East, and China in my world history class. These researches led me to be more open-minded when it comes to people of different cultures and helps me understand how different our situations may be.

I don't know very much about China, Japan, or Africa. The one country I do know a lot about is India, because I am on the Academic Decathlon team and last year our theme was India. I would love to visit india one day, because it is such a beautiful and historic place. One of my favorite things about it is the art. Last year I was the team's art specialist, and studying the art was very easy for me because a lot of their art styles are very unique. A lot of American culture, America being a new country (in comparison) and a sort of "melting pot" of the world, we do use a lot of cultures. I think one thing America certainly gets from Asia and Africa is probably food. American's love Asian food, and it's very common. Yet, I have a feeling that other countries aren't the same way, in that they don't have American food on every corner, because there isn't a lot to American food. Hamburgers and Fries? Those are considered "American Foods." Neither of them are actually from America. It's like America has cheated, and copied other countries, and thereby created a whole culture of their own. That was a really long response to a simple question, sorry for going on that long tangent!

I think that how we learn around the world is somewhat similar. I think that we all learn about math and science the same. I have heard that the education system is more difficult than the education system in the U.S. For example, some countries don't have free schooling and most schools are very strict. Many schools in different countries cannot afford any school supplies. Some countries even barely have schools. Though, I think we borrow the same history.

We as a country are influenced by other places around the world, whether it be Media, food, or other items we use in our everyday life. China, the biggest influence on us, has created items and food that we always use, in fact most of our products in the USA is made from China.

America has the best military options out of everyone in the u.s. because you have so many choices. You have the Marines, the Army, the Navy, and Army. But to too it off you have even more choices once you choose one I those branches. For example, their is officers in the Army, their are Navy deals in the Navy, ect.

The USA definitely has the biggest Army, but we are connected with many other places. We all bacically share the same food, but they have their own. The US has tons of products made from China. Our schools here in the US are not much like the other schools in other countries. Some other countries don’t have as many supplies as we have. The US probably gets a lot of food from Asia & Africa. I’m pretty sure we learn the same thing around us in science & math. There is way more history behind this.

I don’t know a lot about China,Japan, the Middle East, and Africa. What I do know about China is that they take their religion very serious. They also show us what a honorable death is through samurais. Through out America we have all types of religion here. We also switched religion and others stayed what they believe on. It is good that we can worship what we want and what we believe. America was found by the British. We are all mixed somehow.

I don’t know much about other countries. I still feel like our learning systems are the same or at least similar. I believe we all learn the same math and the same science. If we’re not learning the same thing then why does in get better education than the other. Our religion is taken verry seriously much like China and Japan. Our religion is preached out and well known and celebrated much like China.

So I really noticed how time has changed for many different cultures. People use to have to walk to places because they didn't have cars. Or that how the other cultures use to disrespect or to out rule them I think they could have just been no wars take what you have and leave it at that.So I have this friend and her family is a different culture and her mom is the best cook she has different recipes I never knew then now I know people have different traditions and food.

I don’t know much of any of the countries but I say that all cultures have some kind of connections. We all have traditions & how everything is handled. We have the same way schools teach. The way we raise families should be similar. But China is very serious about their culture so I can’t really relate to that.

I don't know a lot about Africa, Japan, or China. I know some things about the middle East, like how its a region with no clear boundaries. Each place has brought something new to America. America adapts and combines everyone's cultures. As you have probably seen, America is very diverse. We are all different and our cultures are too. Here in America, everyone has something to contribute to the culture.

In America, we have a ton of associations with other cultures. A prime example of this is Restaurants. In Lake Elsinore, there is differing restaurants depending on the culture, like Chinese, Mexican, and other types of cuisine. Unfortunately, we don't have lots in common with these other places, but America does "borrow" some concepts and such from other eastern cultures. Most of the things we learn are from America's perspective, and you likely aren't aware of the truth in most situations. Why? To an extent, America is biased. They are one of the biggest continents in the world, and they don't actually care much about other cultures. Learning through other views (unbiased, preferably,) is a whole new take on everything, and you'll likely learn things you wouldn't have if you didn't examine their literature.

The ways that I can make connections to China and Japan is that they are both able to trade with each other and also they can conflict with each other. the other way is that they all have friendships with each other even though they are in a different country. the connections that I can make about the Middle East and Africa is that they both have the dominant religion of Islam and they both believe in the Islam religion. these are some of the connections about Japan and China. And also the connections that The middle east have with Africa. the connections that the middle east have with china is that the both have an economic engagement connection with each other which allows them to have peace and stability in these countries. These are some of the connections that I know that the middle east japan and china have with one another.

I don't know much about these places and their cultures besides the basic things shown in media. Most of the time when it comes to learning about a country's culture it has to do with food, art, or language. I've seen lots of art pieces that originate in Japan and China but when it comes to Africa and the Middle East I feel that I'm more familiar with their dishes. When it comes to borrowing from cultures I don't think Americans borrow anything, historically they've only stolen. I also know that the U.S. des not have the best relationship with these area's. However these countries have contributed lots of ideas and resources to people all over the world like all countries do.

But china i read up book on their first emperor he was an incredible and fierce man. his people loved and feared him which is a hard feet to accomplish can link Africa to me with the people that inhabit Africa well a large portion of their population is black and in history and Americas history we owned black slaves and since i live in America it linked threw location. the middle east i can link with me because i use to watch a lot of their movies and their culture was shown as like their a brutal but beautiful culture it the reverse of a southern gothic.

I know a few things about these cultures since I follow along with a few things from these cultures and learn new things as I go. I think it's nice to learn about these things since you can know about the things that come from these places. I think America doesn't seem to acknowledge that. Instead they steal certain things from these cultures and make it their own instead of taking the time to learn about the things that they are stealing from. Overall I think these cultures bring a lot of nice things for us to take interests in.

Literature is any actual, imaginative, and creative work about people!s life and what they have done in their lives as an achievement, what they have believed, and what they have created or have thought to create. It should not portray one view about the human life, for instance only the positive side of their life, literature should portray different and real visions to the human life whether it was positive or negative because this implies a balanced and viable representation of the human life realities and existence."For centuries, people have felt the need to express their opinion on things and events happening around them and to them. In Japan they are known for their festivals, foods, drinks, and shows. I don't know anything about the middle eastern. Lastly, Africa is the second largest continent and they have the largest desert in the world. How these places connect with me is that I eat and drink of Japanese and Chinese foods often. As at 2016, the country has a population of more than 1 billion people. Of course, 2 years later the population must have increased by a few thousand. Also China is the fourth largest country in the world, after Russia, Canada and the United States. China has an area of 9, 706, 961 square kilometres. I believe that some of the things that we all take from different cultures is celebrations. Lots of cultures celebrate different things for different reasons, but in the end we all celebrate with joyfulness and cheer. Another thing I believe all religions share is commemorations. For example, the Hispanic commemorate the dead with Day of the Dead.

Certain people do not have a Culture because they weren't raised into it. Although today we all share cultures and we don't even realize. Food is a culture we use from everywhere. To be honest, I don't really know too much about the cultures besides Japanese culture. Cultures change drastically in comparison to what we do in the US. The food I've tried from Japan and the way they arrange their living is different by a longshot. In Japan you can usually find pod hotels, They are much cheaper than the average hotel room, But much less space. The food always has a different flavoring and The way they cook it Is much different. In most other cultures they have more street food, and markets setup on streets. In certain parts of the world, as a tourist the citizens of the town wont let you pay, its a custom of other cultures. As We grow older you can only learn more and go to new places, looking forward to new things.

I am not a part of these cultures, but I respect them. I don't know very much about the traditions and practices within these cultures, but I do know how Americans have borrowed from these cultures. America has taken away from these cultures and benefited from it. An example of this is yoga. Americans have completely rebranded yoga and completely ignore its roots and the spiritual aspects of it. Many countries have strict rules they have to follow or they'll be consequences. Africa I don't know much about it. Japan I know is very traditional with their traditions.
